The aim of the workshop is to explore the meaning of masculinity and its impact on clinical work. A short resumé of psychoanalytic thinking will be provided to introduce concepts that will be used throughout the day. Extracts from the Western film "Red River", together with a commentary, will provide an opportunity for participants to share their own thoughts and experiences.

Speaker: Colin Murphy

Colin Murphy has worked with men as a social worker, counsellor and psychotherapist. He established a project working with violent men and with men in a university counselling service. He is a senior tutor on the Birkbeck MSc in Psychodynamic counselling and has a private practice.
