Coronavirus crisis
Please note that during the coronavirus crisis, for your protection and ours, we will be offering therapy by phone or online only (Skype, Zoom, FaceTime,...).
Please contact us to arrange or discuss, using one of the usual ways to contact us (see header banner).
We are a group of professional therapists offering a range of therapies and therapeutic styles.
Practice therapists work at a number of different locations throughout the region.
Clients may be seen at our rooms in central Bury St Edmunds; or nearby in Isleham near Ely and Newmarket; or in Kentford near Newmarket and Bury St Edmunds; or in Brettenham between Stowmarket and Long Melford.
The Bury Practice is an associateship of registered psychotherapists and counsellors, first established in 1989. The therapists work alongside psychiatric consultants to maintain professional standards.
All our services are completely confidential.
All members of the Practice belong to either The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) or The United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), and are bound by their respective codes of practice.
The Practice offers individual and couple counselling, psychotherapy and cognitive behaviour therapy; and counselling for young people aged 12 and over.
We provide facilitators for therapy groups and supervision for groups and individuals.
We run regular training and professional development workshops, and organise conferences.
Perhaps the most important factor for the successful outcome of therapy or counselling is the relationship which develops between you and the therapist.
You may be new to therapy or to counselling. We offer an initial assessment meeting in which we can help you choose the best form of therapy for you. To take the first step, please contact us to arrange an initial meeting.
or phone 01284 774724 or 01638 780131 for an appointment.
